'My Precious Honey'-stories about dogs and their owners [Drága Kincsem - történetek kutyákról és gazdáikról]

The concept of this project was about the dog's role in the family. We were looking for answers to questions such as 'What does dog means to people in this district?' 'Why is a dog a real companion for so many people?' 'Why can a foster dog means so much to us, like a child?' We were looking for personal opinions and voices on these questions We wanted to listen to and visualize stories from the district of Ferencváros that reveal experiences and feelings of connection to the topic.
 

The project involved interviews with dog owners and produced a dramaturgically selected audio material from these interviews. These audios could listen via QR codes on the fence of the dog runner and the playground. The other part of the installation was placed on the grass behind the playground: two 'megaphones' shaped installations. The megaphones 'translated' the text into dog barks for human speech and a human voice for dog barking. The content of the dog and human texts coming from the megaphones reflected the content of the personal interviews in the QR codes. The interactive 'dog-human translator' aimed to get the viewers-listeners to reflect on how can influence the way someone views their dog as a member of the family or even a child, and how this relationship can be diverse.
