Premier: 2019.

After all, which dust are we talking about? The one that gets in your way when the wind blows in your eyes? Or the one that takes on magical shapes in the kaleidoscope? Perhaps both at the same time.

Dust is the sequel to our 2017 Dandelion production so you can see two 30-minute performances in one evening, with one intermission. Dandelion speaks about love in metaphorical, lyrical language, using poems by Hungarian poets and the actors' thoughts. Dust will challenge this subtle, pastel and idyllic world in the second part of the evening. István Vörös' drama is a sharp critique of our insatiable desire for harmony, of ourselves and of the theatre itself.

"Our production of Dust is a series of questions. We seek answers to what we call beauty and what gives meaning to creation or our everyday lives. There is a lot of irony and self-irony in this, which requires self-knowledge and strong intellectual work from the actors of Baltazár, who do this work flawlessly", say Olívia Réti-Harmath and Dorka Farkas about the directorial concept.

The absurd world of the production is based on the uniqueness of the actors, an attempt to show the diversity and variety that only Baltazár actors are capable of. "There's a lot of self-reflexive humour in the dramatic text, and we reinforce that in the performance. At certain points, light humour and depth come together, but we strive to make it all come from the personalities and lived experiences of the actors. That's why the world of Dust is built on their improvisations, developing them and making them more coherent," the directors say of the process.
